One ingredient: raw Batana oil. Cold-pressed from the nuts of the American oil palm (Elaeis oleifera) in the rainforests of La Mosquitia, Honduras. Nothing added, nothing refined, nothing diluted.
The Miskito people have used Batana oil for generations to protect, strengthen, and restore hair. Healistix sources it directly and packages it in our Brooklyn kitchen — the same family operation behind the Sebi Trinity Sea Moss Gel.
For hair & scalp: Warm a small amount between your palms, then massage into your scalp and work through the ends. Leave on for 30–60 minutes (or overnight with a silk cap) and wash out. Use 2–3 times a week for best results.
For skin & beard: Apply a thin layer to damp skin or beard hair after washing. A little goes a long way — start with a dime-sized amount.
Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place. Batana oil is naturally thick and may solidify in cooler temperatures — warm the jar briefly in your hands or in warm water to soften.
One ingredient. That is the entire list. Raw Batana oil — cold-pressed, unrefined, undiluted.
No carrier oils blended in. No fragrance. No preservatives. No fillers. If it isn't pure Batana oil, it isn't in the jar. That's the same rule Duals Natural has kept in our Brooklyn kitchen since 1989, and it's the rule Healistix runs on too.
Batana oil: Sourced from the rainforests of La Mosquitia, Honduras — harvested and cold-pressed by Miskito communities using traditional methods passed down through generations.
Why Honduras: The American oil palm that produces Batana nuts grows wild in Honduras' Caribbean lowlands. The Miskito people call it the "miracle oil" and have used it for centuries to maintain thick, strong hair in tropical humidity.
Where we package it: Our Brooklyn kitchen — the same block Duals Natural has been on since 1989.

What you may notice after 30 days of Batana oil

Deeper moisture, less breakage

Batana oil penetrates the hair shaft — not just coating the surface. Hair feels softer, snaps less, and holds moisture between washes.

01

Healthier, calmer scalp

The oil's natural fatty acid profile helps balance scalp oils, reduce dryness and flaking, and create a healthier environment for growth.

02

Visible shine and definition

Curls, coils, and waves start holding their shape with a natural sheen — not a greasy coating. Straight hair gets the same light-catching smoothness.

03

Stronger hair over time

Consistent use supports thicker-feeling strands and less thinning. The Miskito communities who've used it for centuries call it the miracle oil for a reason.

04

Skin and beard glow

Works just as well on skin and facial hair. A thin layer after washing adds moisture without clogging pores or leaving residue.

Using it on my beard and hairline. Thicker, softer, and my barber actually asked what I've been doing differently.

One ingredient. Six ways it works.

Most hair oils are blends padded with cheap carriers. Batana oil is a single, raw ingredient — and it does more than the blends.

01

Deeply moisturizes

Penetrates the hair shaft and skin to deliver lasting hydration — not a surface-level coating that washes off.

02

Supports healthy hair growth

Nourishes follicles and strengthens strands from the root. Consistent use helps reduce thinning and supports fuller-looking hair.

03

Balances scalp health

Helps calm dryness, flaking, and irritation. A healthy scalp is the foundation — Batana oil keeps it balanced.

04

Reduces breakage

Strengthens hair so it stretches instead of snapping. Especially effective for natural, textured, and chemically-treated hair.

05

Natural shine & definition

Adds a natural light-catching sheen to curls, coils, waves, and straight hair without heaviness or buildup.

06

Works on skin & beard too

Not just for head hair. A thin layer on skin adds moisture without clogging pores. Beard hair gets the same softness and thickness.

What exactly is Batana oil?
Batana oil is cold-pressed from the nuts of the American oil palm (Elaeis oleifera), which grows wild in the rainforests of Honduras. The Miskito people of La Mosquitia have used it for centuries to protect, strengthen, and restore hair — they call it the "miracle oil." Ours is 100% raw, unrefined, and undiluted.
How is this different from the Batana oil I see on Amazon?
Most Batana oil on the market is refined, diluted with carrier oils, or processed in ways that strip out the active compounds. Ours is raw and unrefined — you can tell by the dark color, thick texture, and earthy smell. If your Batana oil is light-colored and thin, it's been processed.
Does it work on all hair types?
Yes — curly, coily, wavy, straight, natural, relaxed, color-treated, locs, braids, beard. Batana oil doesn't discriminate. It's suitable for men and women, and effective on all hair and beard types.
How often should I use it?
For hair and scalp, 2–3 times a week as a pre-wash treatment (30–60 minutes or overnight) gives the best results. For skin and beard, a small daily amount after washing works well. A 3oz jar lasts most people 4–6 weeks depending on hair length.
Why does it smell earthy / look so dark?
That's how you know it's real. Raw, unrefined Batana oil has a distinctive nutty, earthy scent and a deep amber-brown color from the natural tocotrienols (vitamin E compounds). If it doesn't smell or look like that, it's been refined — and most of the good stuff has been stripped out.
It hardened in the jar — is it still good?
Absolutely. Raw Batana oil naturally solidifies at cooler temperatures. Just warm the jar between your hands for a minute or sit it in a bowl of warm water. It softens right up and works exactly the same. This is normal and actually a sign of purity — refined oils don't do this.
